If you are interested in getting married in church, congratulations!
We would be delighted to talk to you about your plans and about weddings in church.
You might be here for a number of reasons:
If you would like to get married in one of our churches, please read on below and fill in the Wedding Enquiry Form further down the page as a first step.
If you are planning to get married in another church but you live in our parish and you need to have your banns read in our churches, you will need to complete a Banns Enquiry Form below
If you would like to enquire about a Wedding Blessing or Rewewal of Wedding Vows (after being married in church or a civil wedding) please contact the Vicar and we would be glad to talk over your options.
To be married in church you need what is called a qualifying connection to the parish. If one or both of you lives in the parish or has lived in this parish for at least six months in the past, then you have a qualifying connection.
(There are other types of qualifying connection you can have if you or your parents have been connected to the church in the past. They are listed at the bottom of the form below.)
If you don't have a qualifying connection then we can talk about what's possible.
Usually the first step is to complete the Wedding Enquiry Form below.
Then the Vicar will normally book a conversation with you.
(If either of you has been divorced, that is not usually a barrier to getting married in church but we will need to have a conversation about it.)
Before we can book a wedding in church, we need to:
meet with you
check ID and confirm nationality (a legal requirement)
confirm the church is available on the desired date
We then ask for a deposit which will secure the booking.
For more information to help you plan your wedding in church visit the Church of England's pages YourChurchWedding.org.
If you would like to get married in one of our churches, please complete this form as a first step. We will then contact you and arrange a time to meet.
If you live in our parish but would like to be married in church somewhere else, please complete this form so that your Banns can be read in our churches (a legal requirement to be married in church).
